Al Qassim Dates Market Tour

An interesting tourist trip over two days and one night, with accommodation in a local hotel, in which we tour the most important historical landmarks and date markets during the season in a number of Qassim governorates.

 Facts: Qassim is 350 km northwest of Riyadh.  It is characterized by its central location between the other regions of the Kingdom and the Arabian Peninsula, with a population of 1,215,858 people, according to the 2010 census.  It is considered the crossroads of commercial convoys from several directions, and the pilgrims’ convoys heading to Makkah Al-Mukarramah and Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah and coming from Iraq and Kuwait pass through it. As a result, its markets have flourished.  It includes 13 provinces rich in distinguished heritage, archaeological and historical sites, and the Qassim region is rich in its agricultural environment, palm plantations, and markets for dates and camels.  Its cities are: Buraydah, Unaizah, Al-Rass, Al-Mithnab, Bukayriyah, Al-Bada’i, Al-Asyah, Al-Nabhaniya, Uyun Al-Jawa, Riyad Al-Khubra, Al-Shamasiyyah, Qusaiba, Al-Hilalia.

 Itinerary

 Day1 

 Departure from Riyadh by train or bus, approximately 3 hours. Upon arrival, check-in to the hotel and rest.

 At 4:00 in the afternoon, start a tour in the city of Onaizah, stopping at some important landmarks, strolling in Al-Falayeh park with perennial palms, sitting in a distinctive agricultural environment, visiting the Al-Masukef market, then returning to the hotel.

 Day2

 In the early morning, visit the city of dates in Buraydah, then the vegetable market and its fig farm. At the end of the trip, return to Riyadh.
